19/3/2020 0 Comments Home-School!Hi Second Class,
Hope everyone is well and that you all had a lovely St. Patrick's day with your family. It's really strange not being in school with you all, but hope you are all keeping busy and helping out at home. Things are going to be a little different for a while so i want you to keep going with the work that I sent home, but if you would like to try these ideas and look up some of the sites below this post, you will find games, worksheets, puzzles, art ideas and videos that will help to keep you entertained while you are learning. I hope to see you all soon, Ms. Parkinson

18/3/2020 0 Comments First PenanceOn February 12th, our class had our First Penance ceremony with Fr. Murphy and Fr. McNamara. We can now prepare for our First Communion, which we are so excited about. We had several practices in the church beforehand, and learned songs and prayers. Our parents were very proud of us, and we were treated to a big party back at the school afterwards, and a big cake just for us! We all got to eat our own name! Thanks to both of the priests for their help, and of course to all of the parents who helped organise the party, we had great fun..and the cake was scrumptious!
18/3/2020 0 Comments Athletics! We have been kept busy this year with all the sports the Rock has to offer, including hurling, swimming and Irish dancing, but one of our favourites had to be Indoor Athletics, down in the Rock GAA hall. We absolutely loved it, and were VERY competitive..especially when we heard the prize was a night off homework!! It involved races, relays, obstacle courses, and even javelin throwing. We are nearly ready for the Olympics now!!
18/3/2020 0 Comments Christmas Craic! Christmas 2019 was one to remember! Our show , "The Greatest Show" was a success and was worth all the hard work. we had spent weeks learning the songs and dances to Mamma Mia, Somewhere Only We Know, A million Dreams, and Ms. Parkinson's favourite, Hush! SHHHH There's A Baby!! Once all the hard work was done, we enjoyed making lots of Christmas art, especially our giant whole-class Christmas tree. We ho-ho-hope you like it too ! (PS See if you can spot our Picasso-inspired masterpieces in the background! )
